(Q1) I can't log in.
(A1) Please confirm the following:

  • Are your email address (Keio ID) and password correct?
  • Did you enter your entire email address (Keio ID), including the domain name (e.g.xxxx@z1.keio.jp)?
  • All the characters of your email address (Keio ID) and password must be 1-byte characters. Did you accidentally enter any 2-byte characters?
  • The domain name of your email address (Keio ID) is xx.keio.jp. Did you mistakenly enter xx.keio.ac.jp?
  • Was Caps Lock or Num Lock on? You might have pressed the Caps Lock key when you registered your password during activation.
  • Have you completed the activation process?

If you still can't log in, contact the Help Desk.

(Q2) Can I log in with my Student ID number?
(A2) Keio Mail is the mail system for keio.jp. You cannot log in with your Student ID number. Please log in with your Keio ID.

(Q3) Can I log in with an email address issued by the local ITC?
(A3) No, you cannot use an email address issued by the local ITC. Please log in with your Keio ID.

(Q4) I forgot my email address (Keio ID).
(A4) Please bring your ID (student card, driver's license, passport, etc) to the Help Desk in person. Either your Student ID number or Employee Number (ID Number) is necessary. Be prepared to provide one of them upon request. For security reasons, if you do not present your ID card, or if you send someone in your place, your application will not be accepted.

(Q5) I forgot my password.
(A5) Please bring your ID (student card, driver's license, passport, etc) to the Help Desk in person. Either your Student ID number or Employee Number (ID Number) is necessary. Be prepared to provide one of them upon request. For security reasons, if you do not present your ID card, or if you send someone in your place, your application will not be accepted.

(Q6) How can I change my password?
(A6) Your keio.jp password is also the password you use for Keio Mail (The Keio Single Sign-On System). To change your Keio Mail password, you need to change your keio.jp password. For details on how to change your password, refer to the keio.jp User's Guide (How to Change Your Password) (Japanese article).

(Q7) My password was stolen (or was obtained by someone). I lost the paper that had my email address (Keio ID) and password.
(A7) Please change your password immediately. Your keio.jp password is also the password you use for Keio Mail. ( Keio Single Sign-On System). Therefore, applications other than Keio Mail might also be used without authorization. For details on how to change your password, refer to the keio.jp User's Guide (How to Change Your Password) (Japanese article). If you can't change your password or there is any sign of unauthorized use, contact the Help Desk.

(Q8) I can't change my password.
(A8) Your keio.jp password is also the password you use for Keio Mail. (Keio Single Sign-On System). You can find details on how to change your password in the User's Guide (Japanese article). Please refer to that guide and try again. If you still can't change your password, contact the Help Desk.

(Q9) What is the maximum length of the password and what kind of characters can I use?
(A9) Your keio.jp password is also the password you use for Keio Mail. (Keio Single Sign-On System). Please see Restrictions on the Keio ID and password in the keio.jp User's Guide.

(Q10) Where is the login page for Keio Mail?
(A10) There are two ways to log into Keio Mail.

The functions are the same regardless of which way you log in.

(Q11) Can I use Keio Mail while I'm away from the university, such as at home?
(A11) Yes. You can use Keio Mail in the same way you do from within the campus.

(Q12) What is the "user ID" for Keio Mail? Where can I get one?
(A12) Keio Mail uses keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System). Keio ID is the sole ID for keio.jp and is also used as the user ID for Keio Mail. To obtain your Keio ID, you need to go through "activation." For more details, refer to Activation in the keio.jp User's Guide.

(Q13) I want to change my email address (Keio ID) for Keio Mail. I entered some wrong characters when I registered my Keio ID. Can I change the ID?
(A13) Keio Mail uses keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System). In principle, a Keio ID that is already registered cannot be changed. Please be sure to specify the correct ID when you register.

(Q14) As far as I can remember, I didn't register a password for Keio Mail.
(A14) Keio Mail uses keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System). Therefore, the password for Keio Mail is the same as that for keio.jp. If you change your password for keio.jp, the password for Keio Mail will also be changed.

(Q15) Where did the mobile login window go?
(A15) In the renewed Keio Mail system (from October 2007), the mobile login method has been changed slightly. For more details, refer to How to access Keio Mail from a mobile device.
